Performance Sighthound Journal

This slick magazine is obviously geared toward the performance sighthound. Published quarterly, it contains articles about all sighthound breeds, largely focusing on the history and current performance activities. Both color and black & white photos are included.

A recent issue covers ten or so articles, including:

• A reprint of a century-old letter on Scottish Deerhoud conformation, including commentary on height, structure, and coat. If you weren't told, this could have been a current discussion.
• An article on Silken Windhounds and their 30-year breeding program guided by Francie Stull. Pictures by yours truly included.
• One part of a series of Yvonne McGehee's tale of a trip to Russia to visis borzoi breeders and attend a Russian open field coursing event, which is described in nice detail as to the differences from hunting in the USA.

All in all, PSJ is a nice magazine with a large percentage of interesting articles that avoid long lists of dogs, pedigrees, dates, instead favoring interesting tales that will keep you entertained. If you're interested in performance, this magazine is for you.
